US oil production falls in November from record high in October, EIA says

Jan 31 (Reuters) - U.S. crude oil production fell by 122,000 barrels per day in November to 13.314 million bpd, down from a monthly record high of 13.436 million bpd in October, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said in its Petroleum Supply Monthly report on Friday.

Product supplied of crude oil and petroleum, EIA's way of measuring demand, fell by 775,000 bpd to 20.235 million bpd in November, the lowest since April 2024, the data showed.

That compares with a monthly product supplied of crude oil and petroleum record high of 21.666 million bpd in August 2005.

Product supplied of finished motor gasoline fell by 260,000 bpd to 8.808 million bpd in November, the lowest since February 2024, while product supplied of distillate fuel oil fell by 383,000 bpd to 3.676 million bpd in November, the lowest since June 2024.

In top oil-producing states, monthly output in November fell by 1.2% to 5.761 million bpd in Texas and 1.8% to 2.064 million bpd in New Mexico, but rose 3.5% to 1.197 million bpd in North Dakota.

That compares with monthly record highs of 5.831 million bpd in Texas in October 2024, 2.102 million bpd in New Mexico in October 2024 and 1.499 million bpd in North Dakota in November 2019.

Gross natural gas production in the U.S. Lower 48 states, meanwhile, rose by about 0.2% in November to 115.8 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd), according to the agency's 914 production report.

That compared with a monthly record high of 117.8 bcfd in February 2024.

In top gas-producing states, monthly output in November fell by 0.4% to 36.1 bcfd in Texas and rose by 0.8% to 20.0 bcfd in Pennsylvania.

That compares with monthly record highs of 36.3 bcfd in October 2024 in Texas and 21.9 bcfd in December 2021 in Pennsylvania.
