ERCOT issues weather watch amid forecasted extreme cold

Jan 17 (Reuters) - The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) issued a weather watch for the period January 20-23 due to an anticipated extreme cold snap across its region, leading to increased electrical demand and potential for lower reserves.
The watch comes in response to expected winter precipitation across parts of the state, though grid conditions are projected to remain normal, ERCOT said.
