The automaker's sales in the European Union, Britain and the European Free Trade Association rose 6.7% year-on-year in January, while the overall market fell 3.5%, data from the European auto lobby ACEA showed on Tuesday.

Italy's biggest utility is interested in acquiring renewable assets in the U.S., the CEO of the Italian power utility said on Monday, adding the development of artificial intelligence was expected to boost energy demand in North America.

Enel's shares closed up 6.8% on Monday after issuing its business plan to 2028.

SAIPEM SPMI.MI

The Italian engineering group signed on Monday a new offshore contract in Saudi Arabia worth about $500 million under its long‑term agreement with Aramco.

A group of Italian and foreign investors holding about 20% of the digital services company Tinexta has written to the firm and to market watchdog Consob challenging the valuation and terms of a €15‑per‑share takeover bid launched by Advent International, Nextalia SGR and Tecno Holding, Italian newspapers reported on Tuesday.

The Italian soccer club said on Monday it swung to a 2.5 million euro ($2.95 million) net loss in the first half of its fiscal year, compared with a 16.9 million euro profit a year earlier, as broadcasting and ticketing revenue softened.

The Italian rocket maker said on Monday that its U.S. unit would locate a new solid‑rocket‑motor plant in Virginia to serve defence, tactical propulsion, missile systems and commercial space markets. The company will benefit from an incentive package of up to 97.7 million dollars from the state of Virginia, tied to an investment exceeding 500 million dollars and the creation of over 1,000 jobs.

The Italian steel pipe maker said on Monday that it would complete the second tranche, worth 600 million dollars, of its 1.2 billion dollars share buyback programme on March 3, ahead of the previously scheduled April 30 completion date.
