LIVE MARKETS-STOXX 600 touches fresh record on earnings boost

STOXX 600 TOUCHES FRESH RECORD ON EARNINGS BOOST
Europe's STOXX 600 .STOXX is rising 0.7% and briefly touched another fresh record high, as defence names provide a lift while luxury stocks drag.
At the top of the index is Mediobanca, rising 7.9%. On Tuesday, Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS) BMPS.MI said it will take full control of Mediobanca and delist it while preserving its brand, ending weeks of uncertainty over the future of the merchant bank.
BAE Systems BAES.L is enjoying a 3.4% lift after results, while Glencore is also adding 3% after results.
Meanwhile at the bottom is Dutch chemicals and foods ingredients IMCD IMCD.AS which is down 15% following Q4 results.
Germany's Bayer BAYGn.DE is falling 8.6% after it proposed a $7.25 billion plan to settle tens of thousands of current and future lawsuits claiming that its Roundup weedkiller caused cancer.
