STOXX SETS NEW PEAK AS 2025 WRAPS UP
There was little action at the European open on Tuesday though a small gain - driven mainly by strength in healthcare after Novo Nordisk won U.S. approval for its weight-loss pill - was enough to nudge the STOXX 600 to a fresh intraday peak.
The pan-European equity index .STOXX, which tracks large-, mid- and small-caps, was last up around 0.2%. Early gains brought its year to date rise to over 16%. In London, the FTSE 100 .FTSE was up 0.1%, set to gain almost 21% this year.
Banks .SX7P, the best performers this year with an over 70% surge, inched 0.4% lower. A gauge of euro zone equity volatility .V2TX crept to its lowest in a year.
