BNP Paribas BNPP.PA on Tuesday said it would be open to an asset management partnership with the Italian second-largest bank, amid reports the Italian bank was accelerating efforts to end its ties with French fund manager Amundi AMUN.PA.

Italy's biggest insurer and French banking group BPCE are likely to abandon plans to merge their asset management businesses by letting a year-end deadline lapse without a binding agreement, three sources said.
The insurer said on Tuesday it would redeem all outstanding subordinated notes on November 21, 2025, the first call date for the securities. The 1.5 billion euro fixed-floating rate perpetual notes, originally issued on November 21, 2014, carry a 4.596% annual coupon until the redemption date. The current outstanding principal amount stands at 500.4 million euros.

Revenues at Italian luxury outerwear group fell 1% at constant exchange rates in the third quarter, hit by weak tourist demand in Europe and Japan despite an increase in sales in the Americas.
