Turkey - Factors to watch on Sept 23

ISTANBUL, Sept 23 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Tuesday.

The lira TRYTOM=D3 was quoted at 41.45 against the U.S. dollar at 0420 GMT, compared to Monday's close of 41.3625.

The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.54% higher at 11,468.07 points on Monday.

GLOBAL MARKETS

Asian share markets looked to build on recent hefty gains on Tuesday as optimism around all things AI sucked money into the tech sector, while wagers on several more U.S. interest rate cuts kept gold on a hot streak.

ERDOGAN TRIP TO U.S.

President Tayyip Erdogan will speak at the United Nations General Assembly in New York; meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres; and attend a regional meeting on Gaza with US President Donald Trump.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that he will host Erdogan at the White House on Sept. 25 and that he expected to conclude trade and military agreements.

ERDOGAN INTERVIEW

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan told Fox News on Monday that Turkey will negotiate the acquisition of F-35 fighter jets during his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump this week.

IRAQ OIL

Iraq's federal and Kurdish regional governments reached a deal with oil firms to resume crude exports via Turkey on Monday, two oil officials told Reuters.

PARLIAMENT SPEAKER

Parliamentary Speaker Numan Kurtulmus will meet with the Speaker of the Maltese House of Representatives, Angelo Farrugia (1300 GMT).

AGRICULTURE MINISTER

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumaklı will attend the launch of the Turkey Flood and Drought Management Project (0700 GMT).
