UK Stocks-Factors to watch on July 7

July 7 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Monday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.24%.

LINDSEY OIL REFINERY: Lindsey oil refinery has secured some crude supplies to stave off immediate closure, the UK energy ministry said on Friday, but a source familiar with the situation said the agreement with supplier Glencore GLEN.L was limited.

RIO TINTO: Canada has discussed offering financial support to large aluminum producers like Rio Tinto RIO.L impacted by a U.S.-led trade war, in the event that Washington's 50% tariff on imports of the metal persists in the medium term, the CEO of a key industry trade group said on Saturday.

OCTOPUS ENERGY: Octopus Energy is close to hiring bankers to oversee a 10 billion pounds ($13.65 billion) separation and stake sale of its technology arm Kraken Technologies, Sky News reported on Saturday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

INVESTMENT: The attractiveness of the United States as an investment destination has plunged in the eyes of British business executives who now see opportunities closer to home, a survey showed on Monday.

COMMODITIES: Oil prices slipped on Monday after OPEC+ surprised markets by hiking output more than expected in August, while gold prices dropped, and copper prices on the Shanghai Futures Exchange and London Metal Exchange fell, pressured by concerns over U.S. trade negotiations.

FTSE: The UK blue-chip index .FTSE was unchanged on Friday, but notched up a second weekly gain, with investors assessing domestic fiscal worries and the rate cut path.
