The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 39.8400 against the U.S. dollar at 0500 GMT, compared with a close on Thursday of 39.8045.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 0.39% higher at 10.228.39 points on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Most Asian equity markets struggled on Friday, despite record highs for Wall Street overnight, as U.S. President Donald Trump's deadline for trade deals loomed next week.
ERDOGAN
President Tayyip Erdogan travels to Azerbaijan to attend the 17th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit. He is scheduled to join the official welcome ceremony, a family photo session, the summit session, and a reception hosted by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
