US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-US stock futures turn positive after May CPI data

- U.S. stock index futures turned positive on Wednesday as a cooler-than-expected consumer inflation report calmed worries around President Donald Trump's tariffs worsening price pressures.

A Labor Department report showed the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.1% on a monthly basis in May, versus the 0.2% increase forecast by economists polled by Reuters. Annually, it stood at 2.4%, compared with an estimated 2.5% rise.

The core figure, which excludes volatile food and energy components, rose 0.1% on a monthly basis, while expectations were for a 0.3% advance. Annually, it came in at 2.8%, versus an estimated 2.9% increase.

At 08:31 a.m. ET, Dow E-minis YMcv1 were up 107 points, or 0.25%, S&P 500 E-minis EScv1 were up 23 points, or 0.38%, and Nasdaq 100 E-minis NQcv1 were up 105.5 points, or 0.48%.
