BROAD BOUNCE, VOLATILITY DROPS
Clearly, European shares got off to a strong start on Monday after Donald Trump's latest U-turn on tariffs.
The region wide STOXX 600 .STOXX was up nearly 1% and a gauge of euro zone volatility .V2TX returned below 20 after scoring on Friday its biggest pop since April.
Gains were broad based, with industrials, financials and tech leading the way higher. Defensives like utilities lagged.
All top national benchmarks for the region were in the black. London was shut for a bank holiday.
