- (The Insurer) - Allstate recorded $594 million of pre-tax catastrophe losses in April with the personal lines-focused carrier affected by 11 events during the month.

Two geographically widespread wind and hail events accounted for around 60% of the catastrophe losses, which on an after-tax basis totalled $469 million.

The losses compare with the $494 million of pre-tax catastrophe losses, or $390 million after tax, that Allstate suffered in April 2024.

In April 2024, Allstate faced 11 catastrophe events, with approximately 80% of the losses it suffered during the period related to four wind, hail or tornadic events.

Allstate’s policies in force increased by 0.3% from the end of March 2025 through to end of April 2025, with the company having more than 37.8 million policies on its book.

Its auto and homeowners portfolios both recorded an increase of 0.3% month to month, while other personal lines policies in force grew by 0.2% from the end of March through to April’s close.

Commercial lines policies in force decreased by 2.6% during the period.
