
April 9 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened lower on Wednesday, with energy stocks leading the losses, as China more than doubled its tariffs on U.S. goods in retaliation after President Donald Trump's reciprocal tariffs took effect.
At 9:31 a.m. ET (1331 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE was down 0.7% at 22,361.22 points.
