Shares of some U.S. drugmakers fall premarket, amid a broader market sell-off, after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened steep tariffs on the sector

The pharma sector had briefly ducked Trump's sweeping tariffs announcement on Wednesday, but some of the stocks have wiped off gains from the previous session after he said the sector was under review

Shares of Merck MRK.N down 1.6%, Biogen BIIB.O down 1.3%, Pfizer PFE.N down 2% and Eli Lilly LLY.N down 3% before the bell

MRK, AbbVie ABBV.N and Amgen AMGN.O climbed between 2% and 3% on Thursday

Up to last close, LLY up 2.2% , MRK down 13.2%, BIIB down 14.5% and PFE down 8.4% YTD
