BUZZ-Union Pacific rises after posting higher quarterly profits

Railroad operator Union Pacific Corp's shares UNP.N rise 4.1% to $245.49 premarket

UNP reported a 7% increase in Q4 profit, helped by more grain and fertilizer shipments and core pricing gains

Posted Q4 profit of $1.76 bln, or $2.91 per share, compared with $1.65 bln, or $2.71 per share, a year earlier

However, Q4 revenue fell by 1% year on year to $6.12 bln

UNP cites lower fuel surcharge revenue, unfavorable business mix, and lower other revenue (which includes logistics, commuter rail operations and accessorial revenues)
