WASHINGTON, March 27 (Reuters) - The U.S. House of Representatives will vote as soon as possible to restore funding for the Department of Homeland Security until late May, Speaker Mike Johnson said on Friday, setting up a contrast with a bill that passed the Senate.
"This gambit that was done last night is a joke," Johnson told reporters, referring to the Senate legislation. He said he spoke with President Donald Trump, who understands the path House Republicans are pursuing.
