
March 2 (Reuters) - JPMorgan and Citigroup employees in the Middle East have been asked to work from home as tensions escalate amid the U.S.-Israeli air war against Iran, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Monday.
Both the U.S. lenders do not expect disruptions to their operations in the region, said the sources, who declined to be named as the information was private.
Tensions in the Middle East flared up after the U.S. and Israeli air strikes against Iran prompted retaliatory missiles from Tehran targeted toward the Gulf states and other Washington allies in the region.
Saudi Arabia shut its biggest refinery after drone strikes caused a fire, while loud blasts were heard in Dubai and Samha in the UAE, and in Qatar's capital Doha.
Standard Chartered has advised staff to delay any planned travel to the Middle East, the bank said late on Sunday.
