China still a developing country at WTO, senior trade negotiator says

BEIJING, Sept 24 (Reuters) - China still sees itself as a developing country at the World Trade Organization but will forego asking for the benefits it gains from that classification, senior trade negotiator Li Chenggang told a briefing on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Premier Li Qiang announced the $19-trillion economy would no longer seek access to special and differential Treatment in current and new WTO pacts during a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
