Chinese military says it monitored US, British warships' transit through Taiwan Strait
BEIJING, Sept 12 (Reuters) - The Chinese military said it ordered naval and air forces on Friday to monitor U.S. destroyer USS Higgins and British frigate HMS Richmond's transit through the Taiwan Strait.
The moves by the U.S. and Britain "sent wrong signals" and undermined peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, said Shi Yi, a spokesperson for the military's Eastern Theatre Command.
