Trump repeats calls for former Colorado clerk to be let out of jail

WASHINGTON, Sept 5 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump repeated his call for Colorado authorities to release former local county clerk Tina Peters from jail, saying she was wrongly imprisoned for raising concerns about voting integrity in 2021.

Peters was convicted of illegally tampering with voting machines and sentenced to nine years in prison in 2024.
