Universalis rebrands as Acrisure Portugal Insurance Broker

July 8 - (The Insurer) - Portuguese insurance broker Universalis is rebranding to Acrisure Portugal Insurance Broker, following its acquisition by Acrisure in May 2023.

The rebranding will not affect Acrisure Portugal's existing management structure and operational model. The broker will continue to operate under the supervision of ASF, Portugal’s insurance and pension funds regulator.

José Rodrigues, CEO of Acrisure Portugal, said the renaming of Universalis comes at the two-year integration milestone for the companies.

Acrisure's acquisition of Universalis was part of its European expansion strategy, which also included the acquisition of insurance distribution platform Unilink and the formation of a new German, Austrian and Swiss market subsidiary, Acrisure Deutschland GmbH.
