Democratic fundraiser ActBlue brings in nearly $400 million amid Trump pressure, CNN reports
July 7 (Reuters) - Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue brought in more than $393 million during the second quarter of this year, nearly on par with the $400 million it processed in the first quarter, CNN reported on Monday, citing figures shared first with CNN.
President Donald Trump had in April targeted ActBlue and other online fundraising platforms with a presidential memorandum aimed at cracking down on illegal foreign contributions in U.S. elections.
ActBlue did not immediately respond to a request for comment outside regular business hours. Reuters could not immediately verify the CNN report.
