Britain’s Cameron Norrie battled past Chile’s Nicolas Jarry in a gruelling five-set match lasting over four hours, winning 6-3 7-6(4) 6-7(7) 6-7(5) 6-3.

Top seed Aryna Sabalenka had to fight to beat Belgium’s tricky 24th seed Elise Mertens 6-3 7-6(4) in just over 90 minutes and advance to the quarter-finals.

Germany's Laura Siegemund ended lucky loser Solana Sierra's dream run as she beat the Argentinian 6-3 6-2 to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the first time.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the second time in her career, knocking out British hope Sonay Kartal 7-6(3) 6-4.
1255 FRITZ THROUGH AS THOMPSON RETIRES
American fifth seed Taylor Fritz progressed to the quarter-finals after Jordan Thompson retired due to injury with Fritz leading 6-1 3-0.
