Germany's Merz held call with Trump on Ukraine, trade, Spiegel reports

BERLIN, July 4 (Reuters) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump on the phone on Thursday, according to Spiegel magazine, citing government sources.
The two leaders discussed the situation in Ukraine, including strengthening its air defence, as well as trade issues, Spiegel reported on Friday.
