Vietnam says its negotiators coordinating to finalise trade terms with United States
HANOI, July 3 (Reuters) - Vietnam's leader To Lam highly values the United States and the country's trade negotiators are coordinating to formalise a deal with Washington, Vietnam's foreign ministry said on Thursday.
The remarks by Vietnam's foreign ministry spokesperson followed an announcement on Wednesday by U.S. President Donald Trump that the United States would place a lower-than-promised 20% tariff on many Vietnamese exports and a 40% levy on transshipments through Vietnam from third countries.
