Germany's foreign minister wants to welcome Canada into submarine project
BERLIN, June 26 (Reuters) - German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said on Thursday that Berlin would gladly welcome Canada into a partnership it has with Norway for developing and building new submarines.
"We would like to work even more closely with you in the future when it comes to procuring new submarines," said Wadephul at a news conference with his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand, in the German capital.
"Because this is more than just a question of procurement. It is a joint strategic orientation among close partners," he added.
