Still a lot of work to reach a deal to avoid tariffs between U.S. and EU - EU's Dombrovskis
WASHINGTON, April 25 (Reuters) - There is still a lot of work ahead of European Union and United States officials to reach a deal that would avoid the imposition of tariffs on each others' goods, the EU's Economic Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis said on Friday.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund meetings, Dombrovskis also said he told his Chinese counterparts at meetings in Washington to try not to flood the EU markets with goods redirected from the U.S. after the Trump administration closed the U.S. market for China with 145% tariffs.
Dombrovskis said Chinese officials showed understanding of the EU position.
