April 17 - (The Insurer) - Perils has expanded its industry exposure database to include market sums insured for severe convective storms (SCS) in Europe, Japan and New Zealand, the loss aggregator said on Thursday.
Perils said its 2025 industry exposure database includes insured property assets exposed to natural perils totalling $108 trillion, equivalent to exposure growth of 3.9% year-on-year at constant US$ exchange rates.
The loss aggregator said inflationary pressures during the last two years have eased off, with a 3.4% year-on-year increase in European windstorm sums insured at constant Euro exchange levels.
Perils said that motor hull sums insured, which it said is a significant loss contributor in SCS events, have also been included in the expanded exposure database.
