Russia jails former deputy head of general staff for 7 years for bribery, Interfax reports
MOSCOW, April 17 (Reuters) - The former deputy head of the Russian army's general staff was sentenced on Thursday to seven years in prison for taking bribes, Interfax news agency reported.
Vadim Shamarin, a lieutenant-general, is one of a string of top Russian military officials charged with corruption-related offences in the last year.
