China's commerce ministry says it maintains communication with US
BEIJING, April 17 (Reuters) - China's commerce ministry said on Thursday it has maintained communication with its U.S. counterparts, and the country is open to economic and trade negotiations on the basis of mutual respect.
The U.S. should resolve differences with China through equal dialogue, said He Yongqian, a ministry spokesperson, when asked about the White House's remark that the "ball is in China's court" for trade talks.
