April 15 - (The Insurer) - Global Aerospace has appointed Nicholas Methven as head of aerospace.
Methven, a veteran of the company, took up the role at the beginning of April. He has been at Global Aerospace for almost 23 years, and most recently served the company as senior vice president, underwriting director.
“Aerospace companies operate internationally, providing products and services to clients across the globe,” said Jeff Bruno, Global Aerospace’s group chief underwriting officer.
“Organising our product offerings in a similar manner streamlines our portfolio, enhances consistency, and ultimately improves customer experience.
“Nick’s deep understanding of our aerospace business and commitment to excellence position him perfectly to lead our worldwide aerospace team,” Bruno added.
Global Aerospace was formed in 2001 following the merger of UK-based British Aviation Insurance Group and U.S. sited Associated Aviation Underwriters.
Its coverages are backed by a pool of five (re)insurers. Munich Re provides 49.96% of the capacity, while Berkshire Hathaway’s National Indemnity Company accounts for another 18.39%.
Tokio Marine and Nichido Fire Insurance Co represents 12.37%, and Mapfre Re a further 10.00%. Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co provides the final 9.28%.
