- (The Insurer) - Marsh has promoted Greg Mann to oversee its U.S. property business, the company said in an internal memo sent by Mike Rouse on Friday.

Rouse had led the firm’s U.S. property practice since September 2019 but was promoted to co-global placement leader in October alongside Marsh U.S. casualty head Dan Aronson.

The intermediary’s zone and national property leaders will now report to Mann, while Mann will report to Rouse, the memo said. Rouse has overall responsibility for both the U.S. and Canada in his new role.

Mann has been with Marsh for nearly 30 years across two stints. He originally worked for the company for four years before a spending a year at Alpharetta, Georgia-based MGA North Point Underwriters.

He returned a year later and has been with the company for the last 25 years, holding property roles including zone, operations, and placement leader positions.

Rouse said in the memo: “In this expanded role, Greg will lead the U.S. practice, leaning into our digital initiatives, and global placement platform to deliver market leading, comprehensive, strategic, and innovative solutions to our clients and prospects."

Rouse said Mann will also work to simplify the Marsh property practice group’s structure, identify continued opportunities for colleague advancement and enhance operational efficiency.

Alongside Mann’s promotion, Edward Atherton has been named property growth leader, reporting to Rouse and will work with Marsh’s property and growth leaders across the region.

The broker has also appointed Jonathan Walker as analytics and digital strategy leader for property and casualty placement, reporting to Aronson.

Atherton and Walker are both internal appointments, having worked at Marsh for 13 and 20 years respectively.

The memo added that Sedat Kunt will continue to lead Marsh’s builders risk placement team.

Marsh declined to comment.

Note: A previous version of this article reported that Mann had been appointed head of both the U.S. and Canada property practices at Marsh.
