Canal Insurance adds Great American’s Thotapalli as chief technology officer

March 25 - (The Insurer) - Commercial transportation specialist Canal Insurance Company has appointed former Great American executive Sai Thotapalli as vice president and chief technology officer.

Thotapalli brings more than two decades of experience in insurance technology and joins Canal after three years at Great American Insurance Group, where he most recently served as vice president of technology.

Earlier in his career, he held technical leadership roles at Nationwide Insurance, State Farm and State Auto, with expertise in insurance, automation, IT governance, cloud computing and enterprise architecture.

The company stated that his ability to leverage emerging technologies, optimize IT investments and drive growth will be instrumental as it continues to invest in core business lines and diversify.
