Feb 5 - (The Insurer) - WTW business Willis has appointed former Aon executive Stephen Kyriacou as head of litigation and contingent risk solutions and senior director of transactional solutions for North America.
Kyriacou joins WTW after five years at Aon, where he most recently served as managing director and senior lawyer in the company's litigation risk group, advising on litigation risks and structuring customised insurance policies for clients across various industries.
Previously, he worked as a litigation associate at Boies Schiller Flexner and held roles including law clerk at the United States District Court and appellate public defender at the Legal Aid Society of NYC.
In his new role, Kyriacou will develop and implement specialised insurance solutions for litigation and contingent risks.
He will collaborate with corporate, private equity, law firm, hedge fund, and litigation finance clients to design products addressing complex litigation, intellectual property, and regulatory challenges.
“His extensive knowledge ensures that clients have access to one of the most technical and experienced brokers in litigation and contingent risk solutions throughout the industry, helping them navigate complicated and unique risks with confidence,” said Aartie Manansingh, head of the private equity and transaction solutions (PETS) division at Willis.
Earlier this week, Willis announced that it had promoted Derrick Easton to the new role of global head of alternative risk transfer (ART) and also appointed him head of Western Europe for risk and analytics.
WTW last month confirmed it would revive the Willis name in the corporate risk broking market for the first time since the merger with Towers Watson in 2016.
