Putin says Russia's budget deficit can be increased due to low debt
VLADIVOSTOK, Russia, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Russia has room to increase its budget deficit because its debt burden remains low, President Vladimir Putin said at an economic forum in Russia's Far Eastern city of Vladivostok on Friday.
He noted that budget expenditures are rising, driven by military spending, infrastructure development, and education. He also called on the government to work on increasing budget revenues, with higher productivity being one possible option.
