The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Friday, and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped.
The loonie CAD= was trading 0.2% higher at C$1.3726 to the greenback, or 72.85 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3727 to 1.3779.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields CA10YT=RR fell 5.3 basis points to 3.375%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.2265%.
U.S. October crude CLc1 futures fell 59 cents to settle at $64.01 a barrel on Friday.
