South Korea in talks with US on FX policy, no specific direction in mind
SEOUL, Aug 6 (Reuters) - South Korea's Finance Ministry is consulting with its U.S. counterpart on currency policy but does not have a specific direction in mind for foreign exchange rates, Minister Koo Yun-cheol said on Wednesday.
Koo said that the government's stance remains that foreign exchange rates should be determined by markets.
He made the remarks at a parliamentary session, as he answered a lawmaker's question about trade talks with the U.S. and after the lawmaker's comment that authorities had been seeking a stronger won until recently.
