US consumers likely to bear tariff costs, says Brazilian pulpmaker
BRASILIA, July 15 (Reuters) - Pulpmaker Suzano SUZB3.SA believes that U.S. consumers will ultimately bear the additional costs stemming from the 50% tariff President Donald Trump announced he would impose on Brazilian imports, an executive said on Tuesday.
Brazil accounts for roughly 83% of the total hardwood pulp the United States imports in a given year, Suzano's managing director for the Americas, Guilherme Miranda, told an event hosted by the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce.
