IMF says Argentina delegation in Washington to discuss loan review

ReutersJul 3, 2025 3:43 PM

- The International Monetary Fund said on Thursday that it is meeting this week with a technical delegation from Argentina to discuss advancement of the first review of Argentina's new $20 billion IMF loan program.

IMF spokesperson Julie Kozack said that overall discussions on the first Argentina review remain "very productive" but did not provide details of this week's meetings.

The four-year program, approved in April, "continues to deliver positive results. The transition to a more robust FX regime has been smooth," Kozack said. "The disinflation process has resumed. The economy continues to expand. High frequency indicators suggest that poverty is on a downward trend in Argentina."
