Mexico's central bank delivers $918 million in surplus to the government
MEXICO CITY, April 28 (Reuters) - Mexico's central bank said on Monday it would deliver 17.99 billion Mexican pesos ($918.4 million) to the government from its 2024 operating surplus, which must be used primarily to pay off public debt.
The Bank of Mexico (Banxico), which is required by law to transfer the full surplus once its reserve buffers are met, said the funds would be handed over this month.
At least 70% of the funds must be allocated to paying off debt from previous fiscal years.
