WASHINGTON, April 23 (Reuters) - Japanese Finance Minister Katsunobu Kato said on Wednesday that he hopes to hold talks with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on the basis of past understanding on the need for close coordination.
Kato, speaking to reporters after meetings of the Group of Seven and 20 major economies, said that he told his counterparts that U.S. tariffs and countermeasures are creating uncertainties in financial markets.
