BUENOS AIRES, Feb 3 (Reuters) - The official exchange rate for the Argentine peso weakened 0.21% against the U.S. dollar on Monday, traders said, in the first trading session of a new currency regime.
Last month, the Argentine central bank announced that beginning in February it would slow the rate of the local currency's devaluation, known as the crawling peg, to 1% per month from a prior 2% due to significant progress on reducing inflation.
