Tariffs hit quarterly US exports from Port of Antwerp-Bruges

ReutersOct 21, 2025 8:17 AM

- Exports from the Belgian Port of Antwerp-Bruges to the United States fell in the third quarter due to U.S. import duties, the port said on Tuesday.

It did not specify by how much total exports were down, but said trade in steel had been particularly hit, falling more than a third from the previous three months.

Imports remained stable, supported by a sharp increase in dry bulk and liquefied natural gas volumes.

Total shipments to and from the U.S. were still up 15% in the first nine months of the year, the port said, as the impact of tariffs had only become apparent since the summer.
