Fed's Powell welcomes and expects active debate between policymakers

Oct 14 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said on Tuesday that an active debate on policy issues is a good thing to see at the central bank.

“We have a healthy debate going” at the Fed and officials are “giving their absolute best argument for their positions. But they're different positions,” Powell said before a gathering held by the National Association for Business Economics in Philadelphia. “It would be kind of surprising if, if you had no debate over those things.”
