On the U.S. economic front, the Labor Department will release weekly jobless claims data, with initial claims likely to rise to 223,000 from 218,000 for the week ended September 27. Continuing claims are likely to rise 1.932 million in the same week, compared to an increase of 1.926 million prior. Separately, a report from the Commerce Department will show factory orders for August likely increased 1.4%, following a fall of 1.3% in July.
