DRONES OVER POLAND
Poland shot down suspected Russian drones in its airspace on Wednesday with the backing of aircraft from its NATO allies, the first time a member of the Western military alliance is known to have fired shots during Russia's war in Ukraine.
INFORMATION FROM THE MINISTER OF NATIONAL DEFENCE
On Thursday, Poland's Minister of National Defence, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, will present information in Parliament regarding the violation of Polish airspace.
NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL
The National Security Council, convened by Polish President Karol Nawrocki, will hold a meeting on Thursday to discuss the recent events surrounding violations of Polish airspace.
DEFENSE FINANCING
Miroslaw Czekaj, CEO of Poland's state-owned Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), said the new Security and Defense Fund will have over 5.5 billion euros at its disposal and will be financed through the National Recovery Plan, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
BATTERY CELL FACTORY
Electromobility start-up ElevenEs, whose shareholder is the investment fund InnoEnergy, plans to build a battery cell factory in Poland. The investment, worth nearly 600 million euros, is expected to begin in 2027, Puls Biznesu daily reported.
