German minister at G20: in constructive talks with U.S. but ready for countermeasures

DURBAN, South Africa, July 17 (Reuters) - German Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil said on Thursday that Europe was engaged in constructive talks with the U.S. on tariffs but was prepared to take countermeasures if necessary.
On the sidelines of a gathering of finance ministers from the Group of Twenty nations, Klingbeil also said Germany and Europe must demonstrate they are safe destinations for investment.
