Berlin says 'time is money' when it comes to tariff talks with US
BERLIN, July 7 (Reuters) - "Time is money" when it comes to tariff negotiations between the European Union and the United States, a German government spokesperson said on Monday.
"Time is money in the truest sense of the word," the spokesperson said, adding that Chancellor Friedrich Merz had discussed the matter with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the leaders of France and Italy at the weekend.
"In this respect, we should give ourselves another 24 or 48 hours to come to a decision," he said.
