Fed's Bostic says coming inflation pressure could last a while
WASHINGTON, July 3 (Reuters) - Inflation flowing from Trump administration trade and other policies could last longer than expected, in part because of the drawn out nature of the discussions, Atlanta Fed president Raphael Bostic said on Thursday.
"There is a pretty significant risk that upward pressure on prices and inflation is going to be with us for some time," Bostic said at an economics conference in Germany, spelling out arguments for leaving interest rates unchanged. The protracted and still unsettled debate over final tariff levels, "will drive this process to last a much longer time."
