REFILE-Fed's Kashkari: need more clarity on how tariffs will affect inflation

June 26 (Reuters) - Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank President Neel Kashkari said on Thursday that recent U.S. inflation data has been "quite positive" but some of the effect of tariffs on inflation may just be delayed, with businesses set to pass on some of their higher import costs depending on where tariffs actually end up.

"We've been basically saying, 'hey, we need to go slow until we have more clarity on what's happening with tariff related inflation,'" Kashkari said, of Fed decisions on interest rates.

"We still need to get a better assessment of where what impact tariffs are going to have on the economy. We just we don't know yet."
